HBW donated new school supplies for almost a hundred students of the first “Teach Anywhere” project in Purok Doldol, Zamboanga Sibugay last Nov. 21.
Teacher Mahsher Shariff led the project in partnership with Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation and AHA Learning Center which was inspired by the Teaching at the Right Level program of Pratham Education Foundation in South Africa.
The number of students grew from a little more than 20 from Sept. 1 to almost a hundred before its completion during the third week of October.
Teacher Mahsher said having school supplies is a privilege that the kids' parents in their purok cannot afford.
But after weeks of lessons and educational activities, the school supplies are getting scarce which are not enough to accommodate the students in the learning center.
Through “Paskong HBW,” a Corporate Social Responsibility Program in partnership with BEAGIVER Ventures Inc., the students were able to receive new supplies after the class was chosen as the beneficiary community.
“Teach Anywhere” aims to support students in need of learner-centered guidance to improve their literacy and numeracy skills.
Teacher Mashsher and other volunteer teachers are looking forward to the next set of students that will benefit from the project. They are also hoping that with the support of corporations like HBW, future classes will be as successful as the first one.
