AdZU Lantaka Campus: Revolutionizing Education and Innovation in Mindanao

Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) is soaring to greater heights in education and innovation with the recent naming of the AdZU Lantaka Campus buildings after the Walstrom family, the launch of the DOST-AdZU AZUL Hub, the soft launching of the DTI RIIC and Fabrication Laboratory, and the renaming of the ALTEC Learning Center after Benjamin Lim Go.

These major highlights were witnessed by partners, stakeholders, media, and even the highest officials of the City of Zamboanga, highlighting the progress and advancement for the future of education and technology. The Walstrom family, whose amazing generosity became the spark of AdZU Lantaka Campus's new and incredible story, was honored by the naming of the buildings after Hilda Gruet Walstrom and her parents, David Walstrom and Gabriella Gruet Walstrom.

The DOST-AdZU AZUL Hub, the first-ever Technology Business Incubator (TBI) in the city, was proudly launched through the efforts of the AdZU Social Development Office (SDO), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD). This hub will support young innovators with their tech startups and other projects, leading to concrete solutions that will address society's most pressing issues.

The DTI also officially launched the Regional Inclusive Innovation Center (RIIC) and Fabrication Laboratory, which will provide state-of-the-art facilities for budding idea-makers and project creators, charging up our quest for a more advanced, sustainable, and competitive research and innovation landscape.

To honor AdZU alumni and major benefactor Benjamin Lim Go, ALTEC renamed their Learning Center, highlighting his support for AdZU's endeavors towards quality and inclusive education in partnership with Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation and AHA Learning Center.

These developments reflect AdZU’s steadfast commitment to innovation with new facilities built and fresh education centers and technology hubs created. AdZU thanks everyone who joined in this series of events and who continued to believe in the vision and mission of the University toward the realization of a better Mindanao. Pro Deo et Patria!
